For over a decade, Raquel Cohen has worked at the intersection of curation and advisory, offering tailored guidance to collectors, institutions, and artists. Her academic background spans Fine Art, Art History, Conceptual Art, and Philosophy at New York’s School of Visual Arts, Fashion Institute of Technology, and Parsons The New School, along with specialized studies in Art Finance and Investment at Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
Raquel began her journey as a student at the School of Visual Arts, later returning to teach and deepen her inquiry into the emotional and psychological impact of art across time and culture.
She was a founding director and curator of SUN Art’s Gallery and Residency Program at The Bushwick Generator in Brooklyn, a division of Sustainable United Neighborhoods 501(c), where she served from 2019 to 2023. Her curatorial projects span a global range of institutions, galleries, and cultural events, including Mexico City Artweek’s Union Galleria, Spyscape Museum, One Art Space Gallery in Tribeca, Villa Matisse in Tulum, Okay Space Gallery, GreenArts.org, Reach for the Stars Learning Center, The SAFE Foundation, Magen David of Manhattan, and the Frida Kahlo Corporation’s presentation at Miami Art Basel in collaboration with the Mexican Government and The Rotary.
Raquel has also conceived and led collaborative cultural programming, such as the inaugural Art Meets Fashion exhibition series for Sandro and Maje Paris in Brooklyn, cultivating meaningful connections between emerging New York artists and global fashion houses.
In addition to her curatorial practice, Raquel brings expertise in sourcing blue-chip and contemporary works from private collections, with experience in authentication, appraisal, and the strategic development of private and public collections. Her work remains rooted in fostering enduring relationships between collectors, artists, and institutions—bridging vision and legacy through the power of art.
